Crocker Park needed a complete website overhaul to improve performance, security, and user experience. The existing site lacked mobile optimization, had slow load times, poor visuals, and did not effectively serve visitors or tenants. These issues made it difficult for users to find essential information about shopping, dining, and events, ultimately impacting engagement.
In addition to usability concerns, the company was paying an excessive amount for hosting and ongoing website updates/management. The existing setup was neither cost-effective nor sustainable, and they needed a solution that would reduce these expenses without compromising quality.
Beyond cost savings, there was also a need for a more reliable hosting environment, improved search functionality, and a more user-friendly way to showcase their offerings. The goal was to create a high-performing website that was easier to manage, more affordable to maintain, and better equipped to serve both visitors and tenants.
Key points included a responsive design for mobile, enhanced graphics and photography, adding an SSL certificate, optimizing search and menus, and improving SEO. It also focused on incorporating space for ads, a signup form, and additional contact and location information.
To guide the redesign, I analyzed website traffic data and identified that nearly 70% of users were accessing the site from mobile devices, making a mobile-first approach essential. Using these insights, I developed a streamlined, responsive design that prioritized usability across all screen sizes.
Throughout the process, I collaborated closely with our internal teams to ensure the new site effectively served all stakeholders. I worked with the marketing team to translate brand guidelines, graphics, and copy into the design, the leasing team to enhance the presentation for potential tenants, and the sales team to incorporate new sales opportunities and earmark areas for sponsor placements.
Additionally, I coordinated with the legal team to ensure compliance and accuracy, creating a website that was not only visually appealing but also strategically aligned with business objectives.
With a mobile-first approach, the site now provides a seamless experience for the majority of users, offering improvements in performance, usability, and cost efficiency. Additionally, the new design has streamlined content management, reduced hosting expenses, and created new opportunities for sponsorship and sales integration.
